The Simple Mail Transfer Protocol(SMPT) settings allow you to specify the outgoing mail server settings, which will be used to send alerts to your employees by email.

You can either use the default Right-Hand CyberSecurity SMTP settings or configure your own. The Right-Hand CyberSecurity SMTP settings are enabled by default.

Note: You can only edit the sender name if you use the default Right-Hand CyberSecurity SMTP settings. The Sender Email field will be uneditable.

However, you can toggle the enable/disable button to switch between your choice of settings as shown below.

How to configure custom SMTP settings

You can follow the steps given below to define your own SMTP settings:

Note: You can't use any email with the Right-Hand domain if you are using custom SMTP settings.

  1. Disable the Use Default Right-Hand CyberSecurity SMTP settings button. Additional fields appear where you can specify your own SMTP settings.

  2. In the Sender Name and Sender Email fields, type the details your employees will see when they receive the emails, respectively.

  3. In the Outgoing Mail Server Information section, configure the choice of auto emails your employees will receive.

    1. Host: Type the host email name.

    2. Domain: Type the domain name.

    3. Username: Type the username.

    4. Password: Type a password.

    5. Port: Type details of the unique port number.

    6. Authentication Type: Select the type of authentication from the drop-down.

    7. OpenSSL Verify Mode: Select the verification mode from the drop-down.

    8. Start TLS Auto: Enable if the email server has this requirement. This option also helps you in making an existing insecure connection secure.

    9. Notify SMTP Errors: Enabling this option will notify you when the SMTP server is down.

  4. Click Test Settings to check if your server is working well.

  5. Click Update if the test is successful.
